23.08.10  PLACEMENT: Art Director - mid/snr, Jo'burg, 2 months  |  A well-known agency in Jo'burg is looking for a through-the-line art director to work with them on a short-term basis for September and October. You will be responsible for conceptualising and implementing predominantly print work, but possibly some TV too.

You will be working in-house at the agency as part of their creative team, based in Westcliffe, near the Jo'burg zoo.

 Skills and requirements:

  • 5+ years experience as an agency art director
  • Print and TV experience
  • Mac-based
  • Sound knowledge of CS4 - specifically InDesign, PhotoShop and Illustrator
  • Creative, insightful, hard working and conscientious

Remuneration: Around R25,000/month, depending on your experience (note: no benefits, e.g. RA, holiday pay, etc.)

Start date and duration: To start as soon as possible, until 31 October.

How to apply: Please send the following to Jo via email as soon as possible (no later than 4pm on Tuesday 31 August, but the sooner the better as we will be forwarding suitable candidates to the client as soon as we receive your details):

  • Your CV
  • Details of 2-3 contactable, relevant and recent references
  • A link to your online portfolio / blog or online versions of your work (NOTE: please do ***NOT*** send large files - if you do we will Not Be Impressed and will strike you off our list!) If you do not have an online portfolio (and you really should because most freelancers do* :-) ), you may have the chance to present your hardcopy portfolio to the client if you are asked to attend an interview.

Please note that only freelancers whose experience meets the requirements listed above and who send over the information we have asked for will have their applications acknowledge.

Thank you.

* By online portfolio we don't just mean a listing on Freelancentral (although obviously we think that is a good idea) - there are many easy-to-use website builders online that you can use to showcase your work in a matter of minutes.
